My love of chainmaille began while working on my Medieval History degree in London where I spent my spare time wandering around the medieval galleries of various museums there. The chainmaille armour always caught my eye. The intricacy of all those little rings making up a complete garment was simply amazing. I always wondered how they managed to put it all together and I admired not only the craftsmanship involved but the amount of patience it must have taken to complete than kind of work. I just had to try it for myself and I have become completely addicted to it.

Sterling Silver Chainmaille Bracelet - Dragonscale.

Welcome

My name is Elaine Hillson and I am an artist and jeweller working in a variety of metals and fibres. My work incorporates chainmaille, wires, reclaimed antiques and felted creations. The metals I use include sterling silver, gold, copper, aluminium and brass, with my larger sterling silver and gold pieces being fully hallmarked at Goldsmiths Hall London. My wire and chainmaille sculptures are unique flights of fantasy inspired by literature and the natural landscape around my home in the Welsh mountains.

I welcome custom orders just contact me to discuss your ideas.
